our Developers team had changed some of application to use sqsh loop funtionality now , the MDA table and mon procs will not display application_name , all MDA sp procs are showing null for host name and application name. the sqsh is been used with -N option . I would like to kow if there is a option to get same functionality as isql when using --appname applicationName ? or have isql options to use the loop functionality?

We are performing a system refresh from production to Test system and when we try to load the database using Data protector , we are getting an error and we are not sure where does the problem is.

Following are the pre-steps I have done before loading the database.
I have attached the ddlgen statements from the source system and the steps that are done in the target database. I'm not sure where is the problem.
Can you please help me there?
I'm able to load the database with the backup taken in the target database without issues. I feel it could be something related to change in the SID's.

Anyone experience this error before? Sometimes ASE Sybase is causing too many unpredicted errors, which makes me think is not as reliable as other databases.
Im afraid system copy was faulty, but SAPINST did stated any error during load database steps and database server creation so Im clueless what is causing this syntax error dumps

Hello I've install my SAP ERP Sandbox with only 1 CPU, but after install I've added a new one, with parameter must be set to SAP ASE (sybase) to be configured with 2 CPU instead 1 ?

I have stopped the application of SAP and shutdown both Backup server as well as Master server successfully.
But when i want to start DB alone how to start it? As i tried to login via isql command with sapsa user it's not at all allowing showing the below attached error.
But if i try to start sap as starsap via sidadm then automatically the DB will also come to online.
Please help.
But when we login to oracle after shutdown the DB we are able get into sqlplus "/as sysdba" to start and stop the DB. Where as in SYBASE what is the procedure to follow. Please guide.

Im using sybrestore utility to create a Contingency Server to test Recoverabilty in case Productive Server fails
Database is small, around 80GB and usually backups took up 1 hour to complete.
System is Windows Server 2012/ASE 15.7.
Its has 2 CPU, 14GB AMD Opteron 4171 HE processor, running at a speed of 2.1GHz
When restoring it took up 15+ hours to complete, it also occured when performing a System Copy using SWPM.
Are this values normal for a Sybase Restore? Is there a way to improve performance since tooking over more than 15 hours to restore such a small database is not acceptable to recover a Productive System

Hi All,
We are getting below error in our Production System frequently.
ASE Error SQL1105][SAP][ASE ODBC Driver][Adaptive Server Enterprise]Can't allocate space for object 'syslogs' in database 'saptools' because 'logsegment' segment is full/has no free extents. If you ran out of space in syslogs, dump the transaction log. Otherwise, use ALTER DATABASE to increase the size of the segment.
When ever the above issue is occurring THEN we are adding the space to saptools database and the related file system (/sybase/GTT/sapdiag) & it is running out of space now.
FYI.
We have not enabled the Transaction Log backup as we have space issues. Please advice for the permanent solution.

I have already ECC6 EHP 6 installed with ASE database on Windows Server 2008 R2. Now I need to install SAP Netweaver 7.4 SR2 AS Java instance on the same system on existing ASE database.
I had downloaded all required media for installation except ASE database. But while installation I dint get any option to select existing database. It's asking for Sybase ASE Database Media Path (Label.asc).
I selected Netweaver 7,4 SR2 -->SAP ASE-->SAP systems -->Application Server JAVA --> Standard System--> Standard system in SWPM.
Is there any way we can use existing ASE database or its mandatory to provide ASE database Media path? As in ORACLE and MS-SQL it automatically detects already installed database.

I am in a bit of a tizzy.
I have DB where I have a relatively older backup SID.dmp available.
The problem is somehow or someone deleted the SID_log_002.dat device. With startup I see the following option:

Also on this system enforce dump transaction sequence is set. Any idea how I can get out of this.
Also because of this DB is marked suspect.

My database is on sybase and os is on suse linux. For the past few days we are facing one problem. We are able to login to our production server
through GUI level. Our server is virtually mounted on vmware and os is on suse linux with sybase database. Here the problem is when we want to try
to login at OS level(sidadm)/sybase level(sybsid)/root level we are unable to login at all levels. is there any problem is there in our /bin file at os level.
for performing any kind of os level/db level activities its mandatory to login at both levels. Please provide some solution to my problem pals.
what could be the reason? why we are not able to login to root/sidadm &sybsid levels. please guide me regarding on this as early as possible and provide proper solution. It's very urgent. Is restoration is the only option or else any other option is there to login to root/os and sybase levels.

We have installed ECC6 EHP5 with Sybase ASE 15.7 in AIX environment.We stopped the sap server to take the export and after that when we tried to start sap the database was not starting.
We have tried the startdb also it was struck in the following phase
