In ECC i want schedule ASE jobs to dump transaction logs,i do it fellow the note 1588316 step by step . In schedule jobs my sql script doesn't work,but it works in sql command line.
sql script :
dump transaction DEV using config= 'DEVLOG'
Anybody can give me some advise to face this issue? Thanks in advance.

I am new to sybase database ,I ma having some doubts in sybase database ,Please clarify below points
1) what is the phases involved while starting and stooping the database ( example in orcale Mount phase ,no mount phase etc)
2) I have read in some guides most of the datbase related parameters are dynamic there is no need to reboot the server .---these parameters storing location i mean what is the naming convention of file name ?
3) Sybase ase db configuration will store in DBSID.CFG file is that correct?
4) isql comand is case sensitive ?
5) to check missing stats execut isql -Usapsa -S<SID> -X -w999 here what is -w999 means and X also

I have a rogue job that appears to be running without being (knowingly) scheduled.
At 1900 hrs the DBACockpit runs a backup job that backs up my SAP Database, SAPTools, master and sybmgmtdb. This runs in about 45 minutes and then every day I get a rogue warning in the Log...

It always happens about a minute after the backups finish, but I cannot for the life of me work out what's starting it. I can't see anything in the AM that would start it.
Any ideas? I really don't want it running and messing up my log chain etc.

I have been engaged on DBACOCKPIT for a while now . I was able to access the page throughout using a local network.
When I started using the Router string for accessing SAP . I am not able to access DBACOCKPIT. IT displays Page cannot be displayed
I have tried to add the HOST ID of the system in system32/drivers/etc/host location. Still I am not able to access it.
Is there any way to access DBACOCKPIT without a VPN or accessing local network. If not , Can you please explain how DBACOCKPIT connection works. I am just looking for a logical explanation , As of now, I am now taking remote sessions of servers (using a Citrix VPN) and through which I am able to access DBACOCKPIT. Problem is that it calls for DBACOCKPIT even when i use db16cold tcode.

i am trying to upgrade my ASE installation 15.7 SP122 to version 16.0 with SAP Note 1982469 (SYB: Updating SAP ASE with saphostctrl / sapdbctrl)
Unfortunately this doesn´t work. I have sucessfully done steps 1 and 2.
In step 3 i used the command:
sapdbctrl LiveUpdate SYT -tsyb -mExecute -oTASK=UPDATE_ASE -oDROP_LOCATION="Z:\DB_Upgrade\ASE"
After a short waittime i get the following error in an outputfile called "upgrade_bs_rdbms.3496.out" in directory "C:\Program Files\SAP\hostctrl\work\SYT

I've got a bit of a strange case here.
I have 4 SAP Servers, all of which are doing backups via the Planning Calendar. Yesterday I rescheduled the backups on two of the servers, and changed the way I backed up from doing a "dump" statement, to calling a Stored Proc.
The job itself says
exec sp_backup 'Transaction', 'saptools', 'Drax'
go
exec sp_backup 'Transaction', 'ERQ', 'Drax'
The two new jobs worked fine all the way up to midnight, but the midnight (and subsequent) jobs failed with

Status: Scheduling failed
Nothing is being reported on the sybase log, nor the backup server log, which leads be to believe that the scheduler is to blame and that nothing in the SP is wrong (its been running fine, and if I reschedule a failed job it runs).
I have the following questions...
1. what caused the schedule to fail?
2. Does the cockpit write error logs?
Any answers are most appreciated.

We need this client copy (Source: 800, Profile: SAP_ALL) to create test scenarios (BPCA/TBOM, CBTA) in our Solution Manager 7.1 SP12. I am configuring the solution manager 7.1 SP9, I have one doubt whether our systems contains diagnostic host agent or not.
in sapmmc at the time of restarting the sap services i found that DAA is there.So i got this doubt. Please clarify what is diagnostic host agent and SAPHost agent and also please provide any material for solution manager configuration. I am not getting clarity from google.

I'm having a situation where the sybase logs under "D:\sybase\BWP\ASE-15_0\install" were increasing rapidly. Can i just delete the file and will sybase create a new BWP.log again? Please advice.

i have a random problem on an system ERP 6.0 EHP 7 on ASE 15.7. Database and SAP instance are on same server (windows 2012 R2). Sometimes for no explicit reason SAP instance loses the connection to dabase, with error:
Error connection databse [ASE Error SQL30012:08001][SAP][ASE ODBC Driver]Client unable
To solve the problem i must:
-stop sap
-stop ASE
-restart ASE
-restart SAP.

We are having an issue. SAP have recommended that for us to do an upgrade of a CRM system we will need to do the following:
"we recommend to use SWPM to disable and re-enable HADR over any direct
 interaction with DR Agent or Replication Server. There are two options
under "Generic Installation Options" -> "SAP ASE" -> "Database
Replication": "Removal of Replication Environment" and "Setup of
Replication Environment"."
But from our past experience this is an issue as the re-enabling does not work properly. When we last had to do this we tried this way 3 times with no success and in the end we had no choice but to completely unnistall and reinstall Sybase from scratch on both of the servers. Has anyone else had this issue or is it just us? I would like to get a general feel for the confidence for this procedure.
